Every October in the United States, we celebrate LGBT History Month. This coincides with National Coming Out Day, which is October 11th.

I’ll be honest. Until fairly recently, I did not know this was a thing. Any of it.

I was having a conversation about LGBTQ history with my friend Charlie Summers a few weeks ago, and he said exactly what I was thinking: “I feel like we are standing on the shoulders of giants, and we don’t even know who those giants are.”

So! This month, want to come along with me and learn something about the people who have been fighting for the rights of LGBTQ people long before we were around to care?

Here’s a preview of what we have to look forward to!
